Scotland has been blessed with glorious weather for the past week! Sometimes the mornings start off cloudy but by lunch time the sun is out and out to stay. Sunset is anywhere between 10pm and 12am.

These longer days are tiring though. I find myself trying to keep myself awake at work as the post-lunch slump kicks in. Air conditioning pumping and fans whirring do little to keep me focused and fully awake. I try to cram more into my day so as to make the most of the good weather, but this results in extreme tiredness. Because who takes naps when it’s so sunny outside right?

As a country who seldom gets such sun, we sure do complain about the hot weather…

It is rare that I will do a day time post but busy evenings call for irregular posting!

Yesterday I had the chance to go on a roadtrip with friends up to Glencoe. We visited Loch Lubnaig, The Green Welly Stop, Loch Tulla viewpoint, Three Sisters and Ballachulish.

There were two visitors to the UK amongst our group, one from Sydney, Australia, and the other from Vancouver, Canada. There were 7 of us altogether and we had a lot of fun exploring these different places and taking in the amazing views. The visitor from Australia had never encountered snow before so we made sure to stop and play in the snow, as well as checking out frozen lakes and skimming stones.

The Highlands are really scenic and beautiful! The snow capped peaks are awe-inspiring and the drives through the landscapes are spectacular!

A Christmas day roadtrip up to Loch Leven with a walk around Kirkgate Park, through the town of Kinross, then a stop off at Loch Fitty. The weather was cold but dry and crisp, with glaring sun! Beautiful weather for exploring Scotland!

It is often when I visit these kind of amazingly stunning places that I stop to think about how beautiful the world is that we live in. I am so very thankful.

On Monday I had the opportunity to go on a road trip with a large group of friends. As it was St Andrew’s day the majority of us had the day off so we took the day to travel up north. 12 of us travelled up from Edinburgh to Loch Lubnaig, Rob Roy’s grave, Creag an Turic, and Loch Voil.

It has been a long time sinceĀ I had to wake up and be out of the house so early, and return so late at night, however the beautiful scenery was worth the tiredness. I love getting back to nature and enjoying its wonders. It was a nice break from my university deadline and revision, a comforting hug from Mother Nature herself.
